El Concilio-Council for the Spanish Speaking and the University of California Davis Center for Health Disparities will be recipients of a Covered California Grant for $1,000,000. The Covered California grants are being awarded after a highly competitive process to applicants to outreach and educate the community about the new federal Affordable Care Act.

This opportunity will identify a qualified non-profit agency for United Way of Stanislaus County to contract with in the implementation of a 7th grade student engagement program.

Thursday morning, Walmart Supercenter in Stockton will receive a giant bill from taxpayers, representing the escalating costs individuals and small businesses pay for Walmart’s exploitation of a loophole in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
