Delta Drama students and guest artist Michael Gene Sullivan of the award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe will put on a free workshop presentation on Saturday, March 16 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tillie Lewis Theatre.
Thanks to a grant from the Stockton Arts Commission, Sullivan will be visiting Delta and working with intermediate acting students during regular class hours and for four additional hours on March 16.
That work will culminate in a public presentation from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. the same day at Tillie Lewis.
The San Francisco Mime Troupe does not perform mime in the sense we may know it. The troupe is known for creating an original musical comedy each year that combines aspects of Commedia dell’Arte, melodrama, and broad farce with topical political themes. The group was awarded the Regional Theatre Award at the 41st Tony Awards.
Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early if you'd like to attend on March 16.
