Pacific Women's Basketball To Face Oregon In WNIT Road Game

For the third straight season, the Pacific women's basketball team advanced to the post-season, with berth in the 2014 Women's NIT. The Tigers will face Oregon on Thursday in Eugene.

Pacific finished the regular season 18-12 overall, and 12-6 in the Tigers' first season in the West Coast Conference to place third in their new conference. With Gonzaga and BYU selected to the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers earned the WCC's automatic bid to the WNIT.

Last season, the Tigers advanced to the WNIT Sweet 16, with wins over UALR and Washington before falling in overtime to Utah.  In 2012, Pacific won its' first-ever post-season game, downing Arizona State at home before a road loss at San Diego.

Oregon finished 15-15 overall, and 6-12 in the Pac-12. The Ducks lead the nation in scoring at 93.5 points per game, but are last in scoring defense, at 89.8 points allowed per game.

The winner of Oregon-Pacific will advance to face the winner of Washington at Hawai'i. Last season, Pacific and Washington met in the second round, with the Tigers posting an 85-78 win in Seattle.
