Thunder Assigned Rosen from Bridgeport

The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New York Islanders and AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers have been assigned forward Ben Rosen from Bridgeport, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm announced Monday.

Rosen, 25, was recalled to the AHL on March 25, and played five games with the Sound Tigers. He recorded his first AHL point on April 1, with an assist on a goal by defenseman Andrey Pedan. The 5’11” 195-pound forward has now played in six AHL games in his career, after making his AHL debut with Bridgeport toward the end of the 2012-13 season.

Rosen returns to Stockton where he has tallied 15 points on 6 goals and 9 assists in 49 games played in the ECHL. The rookie from Syosset, New York has also spent some time on the blue line as a fill-in defenseman for the Thunder, a position he played early in college. Rosen is in his first year out of school where he played four seasons at Boston University.

The Thunder have one more game at home left on the schedule this year when they finish off the regular season on Saturday, April 12, against Las Vegas. The first 1,500 fans at Stockton Arena will receive a free Thunder rally towel. It is also the Thunder’s “Group Appreciation Night” with discounted tickets available for any group who had a night out a Thunder game this season. For more information, visit
