Tigers Get Full Sweep Over UC Riverside In Las Vegas

The Pacific women's tennis team picked up a clean sweep, winning all nine matches in a 7-0 victory over UC Riverside in Las Vegas on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The Tigers evened their record at 1-1, while UC Riverside dropped to 0-4.

"I'm pleased with the way we all played today starting with the doubles," said Pacific Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "It's never easy to beat any team 7-0. The focus was good and team spirit was high. It's nice to get a little confidence before heading into our first match against a ranked team. With the doubles and singles win today, both Hana and Regina remain undefeated. We hope to keep the trend going tomorrow against UNLV."

The Tigers won all three doubles matches, dropping just six total sets. Pacific's singles players all won in straight sets, including juniors Regina Suarez and Gergana Boncheva, who dropped just a combined three sets.

The Tigers are next in action against UNLV in Las Vegas on Feb. 8.
