Construction Work to Shift to West Side of El Dorado Street on Feb 11th

All construction work on the El Dorado Street Improvement Project will shift to the west side of El Dorado Street from Mendocino Avenue to just north of Fulton Street on Monday, February 11, 2013.  Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane within the construction zone.

Phase 1 of three phases of the El Dorado Street Improvement construction began on the east side of El Dorado Street from Mendocino Avenue to Fulton Street in October 2012.

Phase 2 construction (west side of El Dorado Street) is scheduled to be completed by early summer.

A third and final phase of the El Dorado Street Improvement Project will construct the raised medians beginning this spring and finish with the landscaping work.

Throughout construction, the following conditions will be maintained at all times:

  • Pedestrian access on one side of El Dorado Street,
  • Traffic signal operations, and
  • Business and homeowner access.
  • A street resurfacing project is planned for fall of this year.

The City will continue to pursue funding for the remaining work from Fulton Street to the Calaveras River Bridge, which would include replacing sidewalks; improving driveways; installing curb, gutters, and corner ramps; and improving storm drains.
