Dutch Bros Shares the Luv in Local Communities, Raises more than $310,000 to Fight Hunger

On Feb. 14, Dutch Bros locations in seven states raised $310,273 during their annual Dutch Luv Day, established to support local food banks and organizations committed to ending hunger.

“We’re blown away, once again, by the support of our communities,” said Travis Boersma, co-founder of Dutch Bros Coffee. “The willingness of people to support each other is unbelievable and what Dutch love is all about.”

Every year, all Dutch Bros locations celebrate Valentine’s Day by donating $1 from every drink sold to local food banks. On average, a $1 donation allows organizations to purchase seven pounds of healthy and nutritious food for those in need. This year, the money raised by nearly 300 Dutch Bros locations will allow local organizations to provide more than 2 million pounds of food for people that need it the most.

In 2017, Dutch Bros raised $251,671 through the Dutch Luv campaign. This year, with the help of their customers and communities, they were able to raise $58,602 more – a nearly 25 percent increase – to provide relief to hungry people.

“Providing opportunities like Dutch Luv Day for neighbors, friends and family to be wildly generous is what gives us hope in a better future,” said Brian Maxwell, chief operating officer of Dutch Bros. “This is the fuel that inspires us to keep growing and create more platforms for good.”

Dutch Bros Coffee donates more than $2 million every year to nonprofit organizations and causes to “Make a difference, one cup at a time.”
