Gospel Center Rescue Mission to Celebrate Annual Gala

Featuring Keynote Speaker Tori Verber Salazar, San Joaquin County District Attorney

The Gospel Center Rescue Mission (GCRM) is holding its Annual Gala Celebration on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Stockton Golf and Country Club.

The 3rd annual event is designed to celebrate the accomplishments of the Students in the many life-changing programs offered by GCRM. The inspiring evening will feature special guest and keynote speaker, Tori Verber Salazar, San Joaquin County District Attorney.

Tori Verber-Salazar District Attorney, San Joaquin CountyTori has been a major force in San Joaquin County’s District Attorney Office for over 30 years. She rose through the ranks prosecuting gang-related homicides to become the first woman District Attorney elected to office in 2015. Since her election, she has instituted reform and innovation in prosecution for the county. Through her leadership, Tori has established and expanded many services in the area and is an active member of various community programs.

Tori is actively engaged with numerous community leaders in addressing the plight of the homeless and mentally ill through the development of support systems that improve the quality of life of the growing homeless population in San Joaquin County.

Gospel Center Rescue Mission CEO Wayne Richardson states, “We are in need of every possible opportunity to be more aware, educated and encouraged regarding the homeless as all of us continue to work towards solutions to create a healthy community.”

For over 75 years, the Gospel Center Rescue Mission has been serving the homeless and addicted in San Joaquin County by presenting the opportunity for spiritual, physical, and emotional restoration through the love of Jesus Christ. GCRM has a number of programs focused on serving the homeless and addicted in our community. The New Life Program is a six-month commitment that focuses on men and women as a whole person, including spiritual aspects, family, community, and environment that will affect a long-term lifestyle change. The entire program can take up to 3 years, which helps the individuals re-enter their community through counseling, education, work, chapel, and much more. Other programs offered include Emergency Lodging, New Hope Family Shelter, Recuperative Care, Drug & Alcohol Addiction, Clothing PLUS, and much more.
