St. Joseph's Celebrates 120 Years of Service to the Community
Community Invited to Attend Celebration on March 19, 2019
It began as a dream, then a prayer, a hope, and finally a reality. From the laying of the cornerstone in March 1899 to today, Dignity Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center, has grown far beyond the dreams of its founders, to become a regional medical center, serving the broader community of San Joaquin County and educating the nurses, clinicians, and doctors of tomorrow.
This year, the hospital celebrates its 120th year of providing exceptional care with dignity and humankindness to all in need. With a nationally recognized Heart & Vascular Institute, a fully accredited Cancer Institute, a Family Birth Center equipped with a Level III NICU, advanced orthopedic care and a top-rated Emergency Department, residents need not look outside of our community to receive high quality, compassionate care.
Continuing on with its legacy of excellence and innovation, last year, St. Joseph's launched its Graduate Medical Education Program, welcoming a new generation of physicians to the Central Valley. Once the program is fully implemented, St. Joseph's will train 184 doctors yearly, making it one of the largest and most complex graduate medical education programs in Northern California. With both primary care physicians and specialists being in chronically short supply in the Central Valley, St. Joseph's Graduate Medical Education Program will help to meet both the current and future need for care in our community.
Community members are invited to attend a complimentary 120th Anniversary Celebration at St. Joseph's on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Join St. Joseph's as they celebrate the institution's legacy, reflect and share stories from the past, and look on with hope toward the community's collective future.
