California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce to hold 40th Statewide Convention in Stockton

California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC), the premier business organization promoting the economic advancement of Hispanic entrepreneurs and businesses in California, announced today that its 40th Annual Statewide Convention will be hosted in Stockton, California.

The annual convention attracts over 2,000 attendees and brings together entrepreneurs, small business owners, corporate representatives and policymakers from across the state. The 2019 convention will include a host of dynamic speakers and focus on business training seminars and Chambers of Commerce executive workshops. Key topics and initiatives for the convention include: International Trade, Hispanic Millennials, Latina Empowerment, Procurement, and Corporate Diversity & Inclusion.

On Friday the CHCC launched the convention website opening registration to the conference. Website visitors will find information on travel options, vendor requests for proposals (RFP), and the CHCC Small Business Awards nomination applications. Registrants can access exclusive pricing and links for hotel accommodations, special activities and traveling to Stockton. Amtrak and ACE Train offer regular train service throughout the Central Valley and Bay Area and the Stockton Municipal Airport recently announced that it will accommodate convention attendees with daily service to LAX as well as other airline routes from San Diego, Phoenix-Mesa and Las Vegas. Frank Montes, chairman of the CHCC was quick to point out, “At the end of the day, we want to leave a positive financial impact on a community by frequenting its local businesses and supporting the small business communities where we have a tremendous membership base. Hosting the 2019 convention in Stockton was a strategic decision by our board of directors”.

Reinvent Opportunities will serve as the theme for this year’s convention. Chamber board members and event co-chairs, Brenna Butler Garcia and Jose Plascencia expressed excitement to promote Stockton as a convention destination. “Both the CHCC and the City of Stockton have reinvented themselves as economic development engines. Hosting the convention here not only benefits local small businesses but celebrates the cultural diversity of our community,” said Butler Garcia, of A.G. Spanos Companies. Plascencia, an Allstate Insurance small business owner from the Fresno area added, “Selecting Stockton from the CHCC’s Central Region was an important opportunity to partner with the city and showcase the rich culture and economic advances that are transforming the Central Valley”.

With Hispanics making up over 41% of the city’s population, Stockton’s diverse industries and geographical location enrich its standing as a gateway for commerce. “Stockton is a growing community with both agricultural and educational roots which has transformed into an urban destination booming with arts, fine dining, shopping, sports, recreation, and family activities,” said Julian CaƱete, CHCC President/CEO.

“I am incredibly proud to welcome the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce to Stockton. Holding your conference in Stockton is a first for our city and we are excited to have been selected. I am sure convention participants will enjoy our lodging accommodations and city amenities. Stockton is a city that celebrates our diversity and we look forward to playing host to your annual conference for years to come,” said Stockton Mayor, Michael Tubbs.
