Donor Fundraising Event Set for New Boys & Girls Club of Greater Stockton

"Return of the Club" is the theme for a donor fundraising breakfast for the new Boys & Girls Club of Greater Stockton.

The Stockton Advisory Council, a group of community leaders instrumental in re-establishing the club, has scheduled the event for Wednesday, May 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at University of the Pacific's DeRosa University Center.

Health Net of California is the presenting sponsor for this event which will kick off our fundraising efforts. "We are delighted to welcome Health Net as a partner," said Lincoln Ellis, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Central Valley, who will oversee the new club. "Health Net contributions will go a long way in helping us succeed in our mission of helping boys and girls reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible adults."

Alan Korsgaden, Chairperson of the Stockton Advisory Council, said the commitment of Health Net to improving community health through a focus on individuals and their whole health ties in nicely with the goals of the Boys & Girls Club.

The keynote address at the event will be given by Kellie Todd Griffin, Director of Strategic Giving & Community Engagement for Health Net. John Miller, Senior Vice President-Field Services for Boys & Girls Club of America, also will speak at the breakast.

More than 100 community, civic and business leaders are expected to attend the event and pledge their financial support for the re-opening of the club. Those attending will pay $25 each, with all the proceeds used to support the club's re-opening.

Rob Wooten, a member of the Stockton Advisory Council, is chairperson of the event. The breakfast is being coordinated by Judith Buethe, President & CEO of Buethe Communications of Stockton.
