Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services’ 39th Annual Luncheon

Local agency engaging and inspiring community to change lives

Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services, the primary provider of free, confidential shelter and services for homeless and runaway youth and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in San Joaquin County, is proud to welcome Wendy Wood, PhD to serve as the Keynote Speaker for the agency’s 39thAnnual Luncheon. Dr. Wood is an author, humanistic social scientist, peace builder and co-founder of The Karuna Center for Mindful Engagement. She has led efforts for social justice, violence prevention and intervention, trauma and peace building, conflict transformation, and social systems reform throughout the world. The Luncheon, which serves as Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services annual fundraiser, will be held on Wednesday, March 20th, 2019, at the Stockton Civic Auditorium.

This year’s Annual Luncheon will spotlight how to build stronger communities for greater impact by:

  1. Discussing the generational impact of violence and trauma,
  2. Raising awareness of the agency’s comprehensive supportive services, offered free-of-charge;
  3. Highlighting Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services’ partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community members; and
  4. Creating actionable items for community engagement.

The cycle of violence is prevalent throughout San Joaquin County, and every day, we are faced with a series of dynamic new community and societal challenges. Join us and be inspired to utilize your values and passion to change lives through community engagement. Sponsorship and ticket opportunities, are available by emailing Muay Saechao, Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services’ Program Administrator, atmsaechao@wcyfs.org or by calling (209) 941-2611.

About Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services: In 2012, Women’s Center of San Joaquin (est. 1976) merged with Family & Youth Services (est. 1969) to create today’s Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services (WCYFS). We exist to build a stronger community by fostering the strengths in individuals and by acting as a catalyst to end violence and youth homeless. With ten locations throughout San Joaquin County, including four homeless youth and domestic violence shelters, Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services serves nearly 20,000 individuals annually. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, WCYFS relies on donations from the local community to supplement programmatic contracts and grants in order to continue providing the highest quality of services to those in need.
