Local students help business

Delta College Interior Design Students Help Local Small Business. Delta College’s interior design students embark on a real life project to help a local small restaurant business. The students taking the fall semester course, Specification and Professional Practices, taught by Mr. Ron Saito at Delta College have the opportunity to develop a business, marketing plan, and design the interiors for a new Mexican restaurant in Stockton.

It was an opportunity for the interior design students looking for a hand’s on project and a new restaurant business owner looking for guidance and directions with marketing and an interior design concept for their new restaurant.

The students are able to interact with the restaurant owner to develop ideas for growing the business with recipes handed down from past generations.

From their meetings the interior design students have developed a design concept to capture the local scenery of the business owner’s home town of Michoacán Mexico.

The project will be completed and presented to the restaurant owner by the end of this semester.

The location of the new business is Hilda’s Mexican Restaurant on 2359 Waterloo Road.
