El Concilio to Distribute Christmas Food Baskets
Volunteers gather to create 700 El Concilio Holiday Food Baskets for Local Families.
El Concilio is pleased to announce the distribution of 700 Christmas food baskets to families in San Joaquin County. Distribution will take place on December 17, 2011 to families served by the agency in the communities of Lodi, Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, Tracy and Modesto. The food baskets and toys will be distributed to families who have applied for the assistance in early November.
Funds to provide the food baskets and toys were raised at the recent annual tamale dinner on December 1st held at the Stockton Civic Auditorium.
"This year the response was overwhelming, we had many sponsors and
individuals turnout at the tamale event," said Jose Rodriguez,
President and CEO of El Concilio. "We are truly grateful for the
generosity of the community. During these difficult economic times
it's great to know that so many people are willing to step up and
help those less fortunate. The community, corporate sponsors,
farmers, and other agencies have contributed to this year's effort
in making Christmas merrier for the families in the Central Valley."
El Concilio is a multi-service non-profit agency that has been
