Storytime Kits at the Library

SSJCPL is offering literacy in a box! Thanks to funding from First 5 San Joaquin, the Library has created Storytime Kits: themed boxes that can be checked out and shared with young children. Each kit contains picture books, an activity book, a fingerplay/song booklet, and a puppet or flannel story and flannel board. Storytime Kits check out like all other library material: for 3 weeks.

Some of the Storytime Kit themes include: Around the World, Birds, Families, In the Garden, New Baby, On the Farm, Silly Stories, and Transportation. To see a complete list of Storytime Kits, search “storytime kit” in the Library’s catalog available at www.ssjcpl.org

Customers may place a hold and have a Storytime Kit sent to the branch library nearest them.

Storytime Kits are designed to get young children excited about books and reading and to develop early literacy skills, the foundation they need to become strong independent readers when they are ready.

For more information, call (209) 937-8221 or (866) 805-7323. Visit the Library’s website at www.ssjcpl.org and fan or follow us on twitter.com/ssjcpl and facebook.com/ssjcpl.
