San Joaquin County Receives $271,441 Grant to Expand Child Passenger Safety Efforts

San Joaquin County is strengthening its commitment to keeping children safe on local roadways thanks to a $271,441 grant awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Safe Kids Coalition. The funding will support the County’s Child Passenger Safety Program from October 2025 through September 2026 .

Emergency Food Bank Stockton/San Joaquin Selected for Rare America250 Food Donation

The Emergency Food Bank Stockton/San Joaquin has been selected as one of only 250 food banks nationwide to receive a historic America250 food donation in honor of the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary. As part of a nationwide service initiative led by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the food bank will receive a 40,000-pound semi-truck delivery of essential food items on December 18, 2025. The donation will be distributed locally in partnership with St. Mary’s Dining Hall and the Gospel Center Rescue Mission, providing critical support to families facing food insecurity across Stockton and San Joaquin County.
