The Social Justice Ministry of Church of the Presentation is sponsoring a free electronic waste collection event on Saturday (July 26) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school parking lot (1635 W. Ben Holt Dr.).
Stockton-based business Onsite Electronics Recycling will coordinate the event to provide parishioners and all local residents an easy, safe, and legal way to properly dispose of electronic products which contain hazard materials and are prohibited from disposal in the landfill.
The event is open to all Stockton residents. There is no charge for bringing items to the event for disposal.
Proceeds from the collected items will be used by the Social Justice Ministry team to purchase, materials and supplies for the up-coming Love Stockton community cleanup event scheduled for Sept. 27, 8 a.m. to noon. Presentation Church volunteers project for Love Stockton will include Washington, Elmwood and Tyler Elementary Schools, McKinley Park Recreation Center, and Friendly Village Trailer Park.
Acceptable items will include: computer monitors, video games, televisions, computer printers, VCRs, DVD players, stereos, radios, microwaves, cell phones, computers processing units, and large, clean pieces of packing Styrofoam®.
Onsite Electronics Recycling is well known for safely and legally handling electronic waste materials and ensures they won’t be shipped to other part of the world for illegal and hazardous disposal.
