On Thursday, February 15, Jasmine Leek, Customer Engagement Analyst with San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) received a Susan B. Anthony Women of Achievement Award by the San Joaquin County Commission on the Status of Women (SJCCSW).  The category for the award was “Young Feminist Under 30.”

“I didn’t intend to get involved in women’s issues,” Leek said.  “I was working in the sphere of economic development and often times I was the only woman in the room.  When I became aware of that, I wanted to change it.  My passion is creating spaces for others.”

Leek is a native of Stockton.  She attended University of the Pacific and joined RTD in May 2017.  She indicated that she was motivated to work at RTD by the forward-thinking regional strategies of the organization and its ability to build economic connectivity throughout San Joaquin County.  Leek serves as a board member for Community Medical Centers and Stockton Younger Women’s Task Force, among others.
