The Stockton City Council has begun an executive recruitment for the next City Manager. Community members are encouraged to submit suggestions and ideas for qualities they would like to see in potential candidates for this important position. Stockton is a Charter city with a City Council-Manager form of government. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council to direct the administration of the City under the policy direction of the Council:
- implementing City Council policy;
- providing information to assist the Council in setting up policy;
- reporting to the Council on administrative activities; and
- supervising the operation of City Departments.
