First Steps to Family History Research: Free Workshop for Beginning Genealogists at Library

On Saturday, February 1, at 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Margaret Troke Branch Library will host First Steps to Family History Research, a free Genealogy Workshop for Beginners!   Volunteers from the San Joaquin Genealogical Society will present useful information and insights to help you with your genealogy research!
 
Following a good research methodology can save you from floundering around for years with few results. Even one piece of erroneous information can result in adopting a whole set of wrong ancestors! By learning good research procedures, you will be able to locate and evaluate various documents that will tell help put together the true story of your ancestors. This informative session will help newcomers learn the basics of best practices so that they can efficiently find accurate and comprehensive information.
 
After the presentation, members of the San Joaquin Genealogical Society will be available for individual help in online research.  Feel free to bring your own laptop or use one of ours.
