Help Reclaim Fremont Park

Leadership Stockton, a program of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce, was founded in 1981 and is California’s oldest adult community leadership program. The program is designed to inspire a new generation of diverse men and women ready to assume leadership roles in our community and become influential in our region’s future.

Each year the class comes together to select a project that will bring positive change and have a lasting impact on our community. While this is a class project, it is only possible with the support of our community.

What is our Community Project?

The Leadership Stockton Class of 2013/14 has selected to provide some much needed R&R (Recreation & Reclamation) for Fremont Park in Downtown Stockton. We are taking steps to help reclaim Fremont Park, in part by adding outdoor recreation equipment (accessible to the neighboring school children, business, and residents) and by beautifying the park. You can see the scope of the project on the improvement plans through the link below (the work for these plans was kindly donated by Siegfried Engineering).

How can you help?

One of the challenges in completing the project is gaining community support and funding to make our project come to fruition. This is where you come in!

Thanks to the generous support of the community and our business partnerships, we have raised almost $11,000 to date for our project! As we finish our fundraising efforts and grow closer to the end of our project deadlines, we are still $9,000 short of reaching our projects first level fundraising goal of $19,845 dollars. With help and support from people just like you, we can close the gap and finish strong. Every dollar counts, especially yours.

We are seeking valuable donations, small and large, so that we can reach or exceed our goals. Any funds raised above our goal will go towards funding additional equipment for the park (levels 2, 3, and 4). The project and all who support it will make a positive difference in not just someone’s life, but also our community as a whole.

What is our Sponsorship Opportunity?

We have created space on our project instruction board to highlight our major sponsors of the recreation equipment. This sign will be on a permanent structure, covered in plexiglass for protection, located adjacent to the recreation equipment installed in Fremont Park.
