Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services Hosts Christmas in July

Christmas comes once a year, but our community’s needs are year-round

Event date: 7/1/2019 - 7/31/2019 Export event

This year, Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services (WCYFS) will host its seventh annual Christmas in July donation drive. Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services is San Joaquin County’s primary provider of free, confidential shelter and services specifically designed to meet the needs of homeless and runaway youth and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. This drive brings awareness to the fact that, unfortunately, violence and victimization occurs year round. It encourages the community to support homeless youth and victims by making monetary or in-kind donations throughout the month of July.

Annually, Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services serves nearly 20,000 individuals through its direct services and community outreach, including more than 600 victims and their children who stay in our shelters. Our vision is to shift the conversation and culture, and truly transition our community from surviving to thriving.

“WCYFS has witnessed the incredible generosity of this community time and time again – from the outpouring of support during our awareness campaigns to giving during the holiday season. Christmas in July highlights the fact that violence and homelessness are ongoing issues, and some of the most vulnerable members of our community have needs all year long. Because of the generosity and support of the community, WCYFS is able to meet the critical needs of our clients through any season.” said Krista Fiser, CEO of Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services.

The Christmas in July drive outlines specific programmatic needs for our clients, especially youth and young adults starting school. Bring joy this summer season by collecting much-needed items. Needs include summer wear, school supplies, hygiene products, and more. The complete list can be found at www.WomensCenterYFS.org, and donations will be accepted July 1st – 31th, 2019, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at 620 N. San Joaquin Street in Stockton. For questions or additional information, please call (209) 941-2611.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, WCYFS relies on donations from the local community to supplement programmatic contracts and grants in order to continue providing the highest quality of services to those in need.
