The Stockton Police Department website and the City of Stockton Home page will debut a new format this week. The conversion will occur Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. The new design will provide a more modern, responsive format that is easier to view on a variety of technologies and mobile devices, has direct access to social media sites, features more images, and contains less text.

“The Police Department webpages are among the most frequently visited on the City’s website,” said Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones. “The number of people who visit our website has significantly increased. Members of the community and those visiting our site after the change will notice a big difference, particularly those using cell phones. Viewing and navigation will be much easier with better access to information.”

The City’s Home page will also have a new format, beginning the transition to a more modern design and improved website user experience. The most frequently used services and features, such as Ask Stockton, paying utility bills online, applying for City jobs, and bid opportunities with the City, are all found directly below the featured photo on the Home page.

Can’t find what you are looking for?  Use the stacked lines in the upper-left corner of the home page next to the words “City Menu” to expand and view the website sitemap. Other links on the site map will return to the current website format. A “Contact Us” link is provided at the bottom of the page and will direct site visitors to a list of frequently called telephone numbers. The “Search” feature, which uses the Google search functionality, is still in the upper-right corner with the magnifying glass icon.

“We encourage comments and feedback on the new site,” continued Chief Jones. “We’re always open to improving the service and information that we provide to the community.”
