April Brings More than Rain to Stockton

SMG Stockton managed venues (Stockton Arena, Bob Hope Theatre, Stockton Ballpark and the Oak Park Ice Arena) hosted over 30 events and saw over 35,000 patrons visit the Stockton Arena and Bob Hope Theatre in April.

At the Arena, country superstar Brantley Gilbert brought his national Let It Ride tour to Stockton.  With opening acts Eric Pasley and Thomas Rhett, country fans that packed the Stockton Arena were treated to the best in country music.  Also at the Arena in April, WorkNet hosted a job fair with over 100 employers looking to fill job openings in the area.  The Stockton Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly networking mixer in the Record Press Club, and the popular Food Truck Frenzy returned in April.

The Stockton Thunder closed out the regular season and kicked off the first round of the playoffs.  Due to scheduling conflicts, the Thunder started at home against Ontario, and took full advantage, taking the first two games of the series en route to a clean four game sweep.

At the Bob Hope Theatre in April, Keith Sweat, the Soweto Gospel Choir, and Rain Beatles Tribute all played, and the San Joaquin County Office of Education hosted their prom in the lobby, along with a private rental.

Stockton Ballpark saw the Stockton Ports kick off the 2014 season.  Their busy April included hosting 14 home games.
