Delta College Athletics once again offers its exciting Summer Sports Camps for Kids, June 5–9, 12–16, and July 24–28, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. This year's camps will feature basketball AND soccer! Both camps will be open to boys and girls, ages 5-13. The camps will take place at Delta’s beautiful Blanchard Gym and BRAND NEW Mustangs Soccer Stadium.

Originally known as “The Junior College of the College of the Pacific” in 1935, San Joaquin Delta College will hold its 82nd Annual Commencement on Thursday, May 25, 6 p.m. at the Stockton Arena. Delta College Superintendent/President Dr. Kathy Hart, will preside over the ceremony, featuring student speaker, Renee' Royster-West, and guest alumna, Cristal Harris.

Driving near Monterey, Calif., recently, I stopped at a roadside stand to buy some freshly-picked strawberries. May is high season for California strawberries, and the fields were exploding with beautiful, ripe fruit. The gentleman working the stand, Jack, asked what I do for a living. When I told him I work for Medicare, he said he was having difficulty paying for his prescription drugs. So we talked for a while about ways he might be able to reduce his drug costs.
The Pacific women's basketball team unveiled a newly renovated and upgraded Wilson & Leanne Yu Locker Room. The upgraded locker room was named after Wilson & Leanne Yu, generous donors to the Pacific women's basketball program over the last seven years. The Tigers lockers received an overhaul, with custom built wood lockers with individualized lock boxes and phone charging stations with branded Powercat seat pads. The locker room also now features a nutrition station.
Stockton-San Joaquin County has been named a 2017 All-America City Award finalist, one of just 27 communities across the country vying for the honor created by the National Civic League nearly 70 years ago to recognize civic action, community problem-solving and progress in advancing early literacy. Stockton has won the award three times before in 1999, 2004 and 2015.
The Superior Court of San Joaquin County is pleased to announce that it will celebrate Juror Appreciation Week, May 8 – 12, to recognize the service and participation of jurors from the local community. On May 9, 2017, the Board of Supervisors will present a proclamation to the court to honor the citizens of this county who have served as jurors. During Juror Appreciation Week, jurors will be greeted each morning by judges or the Court Executive Officer who will recognize the jurors for their vital role in the justice system.
