Visionary Home Builders of California, Inc. (VHB), Stockton’s non-profit purpose built housing specialist, was awarded funding for Grand View Village - its newest affordable housing community located at Miner and San Joaquin Streets in downtown Stockton, California.

Since 2019, the San Joaquin Potters Guild has awarded a ceramic art scholarship to a deserving student who attended either San Joaquin Delta College or Modesto Junior College.

While many are having to quarantine due to COVID-19, others have opted for a furry companion during isolation. Animal adoption centers across the nation are seeing a surge in pet fostering and adoption rates as Americans continue to abide by stay-at-home orders. ASPCA, Humane Society and others have seen an increase in COVID-19 pet adoptions as well as pet fostering.

Community Medical Centers will hold a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday, August 10 at 1 p.m. to mark the debut of its new Mobile Health Van, which will enhance the ability of the organization’s Care Link unit to deliver medical service to the homeless residents of San Joaquin County.

Recent nation-wide protests over racially based police brutality and ethnic profiling have brought about the need for sweeping changes to our criminal justice system. Each community should be asking how their system is currently handling this intractable problem and what steps will be taken to change current practices.
