Enjoy beautiful fall weather by helping at the 1st Annual Boggs Tract Community Farm Beautification Day on October 3rd from 8:30 am - 1pm. Volunteers needed to assist work on the school garden area, mulching pathways & preparing garden plots for new families to use. The community farm is located at 466 S. Ventura Avenue.
About the Farm
Established by the non-profit group, PUENTES, the Boggs Tract Community Farm has become a very important partnership to us here at the Port. PUENTES does not just provide food for individuals but it gives those individuals the opportunity to learn about local and organic products and participate in urban farming. After donating 2.2 acres of land to PUENTES in 2012, we have had the pleasure of watching Boggs Tract Community Farm grow and flourish, giving people the opportunity to grow food for their families and community. We are especially proud of this partnership because it has become a tool for reaching out and engaging with the community in a positive and healthy manner.
