Buckley Cove Boat Launch to Close October Through December for Dredging

Event date: 10/1/2026 - 12/31/2026 Export event

Stockton boaters will need a backup launch site this fall. The City of Stockton says Buckley Cove Boat Launch, at 4911 Buckley Cove Way, will temporarily close from October through December 2026 while crews dredge the inlet.

The project will remove 25 years of built-up sediment, making the launch safer and easier to navigate once it reopens. The surrounding park at Buckley Cove will stay open throughout the closure; only the boat launch itself shuts down.

During the closure, the city points boaters to two alternatives: Louis Park Boat Launch, at 3121 Monte Diablo Avenue, and Morelli Boat Launch, at 1025 W. Weber Ave.

The project schedule could shift earlier or later than planned, and the city is encouraging residents to check its website regularly for updates on the closure and reopening date.

Questions about the closure can go to the city's Homeless Initiatives, Housing, and Events/Parking Department at (209) 937-8538 or [email protected].
