California Table Grape Growers Announce Scholarships for San Joaquin Valley Students

Event date: 2/6/2026 Export event

A new season of opportunity is ripe for local students, as California table grape growers have once again opened applications for their annual scholarship program. The initiative offers substantial financial support to graduating high school seniors from grape-growing regions — including the San Joaquin Valley — helping them pursue higher education and careers connected to California’s thriving agricultural industry.

Scholarships Designed to Support Local Families and the Future of Agriculture

Three categories of scholarships are being offered for 2026, aimed at both students from vineyard families and those passionate about agriculture:

  • Field Worker Bridge Scholarship – $14,500
For students attending two years at a community college before transferring to a four-year California university.

  • Field Worker Scholarship – $25,000
For students planning to attend a four-year California university directly after high school.

  • Agricultural Scholarship – $25,000
For students pursuing careers in the table grape industry, majoring in fields related to agriculture, viticulture, food science, or business.

To qualify for the Field Worker Scholarships, applicants or their parents/legal guardians must have worked in a California table grape vineyard during the 2025 harvest or plan to work in the 2026 season. The Agricultural Scholarship is open to residents of the Coachella and San Joaquin valleys who plan to study at a California university.

Applications Now Open

Each category will award three scholarships, and all applicants must plan to attend a California college or university. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 6, 2026.

Since 1985, California table grape growers have helped more than 200 students attend college, investing in the people who power the state’s $2 billion table grape industry.
