City of Stockton Asks for Public Opinion on Future Downtown Parking

The public is invited and encouraged to participate in a community meeting about the future of downtown parking.  The meeting will be held in the North Hall of the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium, 525 N. Center Street, Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 5:30p – 6:30p.

The Economic Development Department will host the meeting.  Presentations will be made by nationally recognized experts from Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., a parking consulting firm that has conducted many similar studies in cities across the United States that will be working with the City to develop a Parking Strategic Action Plan.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide the Stockton community with an opportunity to share experiences, perceptions, ideas and concerns related to parking in and around the downtown area.  Community ideas and opinions are essential to determining how to revitalize the City’s parking system and better align policies and services to help the community meeting its larger strategic and economic development goals.

In addition to this public meeting, a number of meetings have been scheduled with specific stakeholder groups to obtain feedback on parking issues and information related to future downtown development projects and opportunities. For additional information, please contact the City of Stockton Economic Development Department at (209) 937-8539.
