Community Organizations Partner for Inaugural Coat, Blanket and Sock Drive

Community organizations, including the United Way, St Mary’s Dining Room, the Stockton Ports, Stockton Record, Stockton Thunder and SMG Stockton have all partnered up to create the first Stockton Coat, Blanket and Sock Drive, to be distributed with an event at the Stockton Arena on November 23rd.
This event is the first of its kind that will collect items from Stockton residents, and return them to Stockton residents. The goal is to collect 6000 items that include clean, gently used coats and blankets, and new socks. All sizes for men, women and children are needed.
On September 10th, the United Way will launch the drive at their Campaign Kick-Off Luncheon at Pacific. On September 21st, the Stockton Record will be promoting the event at Family Day in the Park. Several events have already begun collecting items for this cause. On August 10th and 11th, the Stockton Ports offered ticket specials to future games to those who brought items, and on August 17th, SMG Stockton offered $1 off to admission to Taste of San Joaquin.
