Delta College seeks bond oversight committee members

Committee ensures voter-approved bond money is spent properly

San Joaquin Delta College is searching for members of the public to serve on a committee that provides oversight for the College’s taxpayer-funded Measure K bond.

The Citizens’ Oversight Committee is key to ensuring that bond dollars are being spent properly.

Applications are open until filled. Candidates are invited to apply in the following categories:

  • One representative of the community at large
  • One representative of a business organization in the community
  • One student representative

Members must reside within Delta College’s district, which includes most of San Joaquin County and portions of Calaveras, Sacramento, Solano, and Alameda counties.

Committee meetings are typically held on Thursday evenings during March, June, September, and November.

About Measure K

The $598 million Measure K bond, approved in November 2024, will build on the success of the previously approved Measure L by making additional improvements across Delta’s service area. The community’s generous support will allow Delta to better serve students by providing high-paying career pathways that will strengthen the local workforce. Information about the initial priority Measure K projects is available at deltacollege.edu/measure-k-bond.

The Committee’s role is to review and report on the proper expenditure of bond money. The Committee also ensures that bond money is spent only on the construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, or replacement of school facilities.

How to apply

For an application that can be filled out and either emailed or mailed to the College, visit deltacollege.edu/measure-k-bond and follow the directions. Or call (209) 954-5074.
