Fish Plant, Fishing Clinic at Oak Grove Regional Park

One thousand pounds (1,000 lbs.) of Catfish will be planted at Oak Grove Regional Park later this week thanks to the Fishing In The City Program through the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (DFW). The plant will coincide with a free fish clinic conducted by DFW on Saturday, July 21 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Oak Grove. The clinic, which will be held across from the Nature Center, will provide tips, pointers and information, rod loans and free bait for program participants.

Kids age 15 years and younger fish for free at Oak Grove’s ten-acre lake, a $5 fishing permit fee and valid CA. fishing license are required for those sixteen (16) years of age or over. A vehicle-parking fee will also apply, as do all State Fish and Game laws.

Oak Grove Regional Park is located on Eight Mile Road and Interstate 5 in Stockton. Park gates open at 8 a.m. and close at dusk. For more information, call (209) 953-8800 or log onto www.sjparks.com, Facebook or Instagram.
