Road Closures and Maintenance Activities on Interstate 5: April 27- May 1

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various road construction and maintenance activities on Interstate 5 (I-5) from March Lane to State Route 4 (SR-4) West/Charter Way. No two consecutive ramps will close at the same time. Work will occur as follows:

  • The #3 (right) lane at March Lane on northbound I-5 will close beginning Sunday, April 27, 2014, through Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.;
  • The #3 (right) lane on northbound and southbound I-5 from SR-4 West/Charter Way to Country Club Boulevard will close beginning Monday, April 28, 2014, through Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.;
  • The #3 (right) lane and right shoulder on northbound I-5 from SR-4/Crosstown Freeway to Country Club Boulevard will close beginning Monday, April 28, 2014, through Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.;
  • The #1 (left) lane on southbound I-5 at the Stockton Channel Viaduct will close beginning Monday, April 28, 2014, through Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;
  • The northbound on-ramps from Pershing Avenue and Monte Diablo Avenue will close beginning Monday, April 28, 2014, through Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.;
  • The northbound off-ramp to Pershing Avenue will close on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon); and
  • The on and off-ramps on northbound and southbound I-5 from SR-4 West/Charter Way to Country Club Boulevard will alternately close beginning Monday, April 28, 2014, through Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and construction related issues.
