San Joaquin Sheriff Steve Moore honored as Scouting's 2013 Distinguished Citizen

The Nominating Committee of the Greater Yosemite Council of the Boy Scouts of America has selected you as a Distinguished Citizen Honoree for 2013!

Annually, the Boy Scouts of America selects local citizens who, through their personal achievements, demonstrated commitment to their community and dedication to Scouting exemplify the best of Scouting’s ideals.

Your 30 years of service protecting San Joaquin County, culminating with your election as Sheriff, your dedication to local charitable organizations such as the Linden Lions and your long history with Law Enforcement Exploring, as a youth member, Explorer Advisor and Explorer Post sponsor, provided a strong basis for your selection.

Past honorees from our area have included Robert M. Eberhardt,  Greenlaw “Fritz” Grupe, Congressman Norman D. Shumway, Thelma Stewart and Alex G. Spanos.

Our most recent honoree, Dr. Joseph Serra, is well known for his charitable works around the world providing orthopedic medical services to the underprivileged.

The Board of Directors of the Greater Yosemite Council, Boy Scouts of America is proud to honor your many accomplishments through your selection as a Distinguished Citizen Honoree for 2013!
