YMCA Plans Its Biggest Trunk or Treat Yet for Stockton Families

Event date: 10/24/2026 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Export event

Halloween fun is coming early to Stockton this year as the YMCA of San Joaquin County hosts its 2026 Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 24, promising an afternoon filled with costumes, candy and family-friendly surprises.

The event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the YMCA parking lot, 2800 W. March Lane in Stockton. The YMCA is calling this year’s celebration its “biggest Trunk or Treat yet,” with activities planned for children and families of all ages.

Costumes, Candy and Community Fun

Families are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes and make their way through decorated trunks for treats and surprises.

The YMCA is promoting the afternoon as a fun, welcoming Halloween experience where children can enjoy trick-or-treating in a community setting while parents spend time together with family and neighbors.

Previous YMCA Trunk or Treat events have included participation from organizations such as youth programs, behavioral health groups and community partners, with creatively decorated booths and trunks helping turn the parking lot into a colorful Halloween gathering.

That community involvement is expected to continue this year.

The YMCA is offering participation opportunities for businesses, nonprofits and individuals who want to host a trunk or support the event. Discounts are available for nonprofits and individuals interested in becoming vendors.

More Than Just Halloween Candy

The event also reflects the YMCA’s broader focus on youth and families.

The YMCA of San Joaquin County describes itself as a “Y without walls,” providing programs at more than 40 locations throughout the county rather than operating from a traditional full-service YMCA facility. Its mission focuses on building strong minds, character and bodies for local youth.

Community events such as Trunk or Treat are part of that work. The YMCA specifically identifies Trunk or Treat and Healthy Kids Day as events intended to provide safe spaces and valuable community resources for young people and families.

That gives families another reason to attend. Children get the excitement of costumes and candy, while parents have an opportunity to connect with local organizations and other families in a relaxed setting.
