Classic cars, summertime food and old-fashioned rock and roll will come together along the Stockton waterfront when Hot Summer Nights Car Show & Burgers returns Saturday evening.
The community event will take place Saturday, August 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stockton Sailing Club, offering residents a relaxed summer evening filled with vintage automobiles, music, food and family fun.
The event is open to the public and is centered around a cruise-in classic car show, giving automobile enthusiasts an opportunity to show off their vehicles while visitors get an up-close look at everything from restored classics to customized rides.
Adding to the nostalgic atmosphere will be old-fashioned hamburgers, root beer floats and rock-and-roll music — a combination that could make visitors feel as though they have stepped back into a summertime cruise night from decades past.
For Stockton's strong community of classic-car enthusiasts, the gathering provides another opportunity to connect with fellow collectors and share the stories behind their vehicles.
Those bringing a classic car are encouraged to arrive before 4 p.m., and the first 50 registered vehicles are expected to receive commemorative dash plaques.
But visitors don't need to own a classic car to enjoy the evening.
Families can stroll through the display, take photos of their favorite vehicles, enjoy dinner and spend an evening along Stockton's waterfront.
