A Stockton family is set to receive a life-changing gift just before the holidays, as Fabian’s Collision Center prepares to donate its 10th refurbished vehicle through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides® program.
The donation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Fabian’s Collision Center in Stockton. The event brings together Fabian’s Collision Center, Liberty Mutual, and Family Promise of San Joaquin County in a collaborative effort focused on restoring hope, stability, and opportunity through reliable transportation.
This year’s recipient will be Jacob Munoz, a hardworking single father whose life changed dramatically one year ago when he unexpectedly became the sole caregiver for his young son. Without dependable transportation, Jacob has relied on costly rideshare services to get to work and manage daily responsibilities — a challenge that has made it difficult to save money or achieve long-term financial stability.
“Jacob is an incredibly deserving father whose life will be deeply impacted by the gift of a car,” said Kayla Thompson of Family Promise of San Joaquin County. “This vehicle will provide him with the stability he needs to care for his son, safely transport him to and from school, and pursue consistent full-time employment.”
Despite these obstacles, Jacob continues to work multiple part-time jobs and remains deeply committed to providing for his child. The upcoming vehicle donation is expected to remove a major barrier in his life, allowing him to expand job opportunities, reduce transportation costs, and spend more quality time with his son.
The vehicle to be donated, a 2017 Hyundai Sonata, was made possible through a partnership with Liberty Mutual as the vehicle donor and Family Promise of San Joaquin County as the charity partner. Fabian’s Collision Center served as the repair partner, with additional support from contributing partners including Advanced Remarketing Services, Copart, and Cars for Charity. The effort is part of the nationwide NABC Recycled Rides® program, which unites auto body professionals, insurance partners, and nonprofits to restore donated vehicles for individuals and families in need.
Reaching the milestone of 10 donated vehicles highlights Fabian’s Collision Center’s long-standing commitment to community service. Founded in 2002, the family-owned business is known throughout Stockton for quality craftsmanship, integrity, and customer care. Earlier this year, Fabian’s Collision Center was also recognized as the 2025 Best of San Joaquin Community’s Choice Award winner in the Auto Body/Collision Center category.
The December 19 ceremony will celebrate not only a meaningful donation, but the collective impact that local businesses and nonprofit partners can make when they come together to support families in need
