Red Cross blood donation opportunities May 1-23

There’s no way to predict when or where an accident will happen. That’s why the American Red Cross needs donors to give blood and platelets during Trauma Awareness Month this May and throughout the year to help ensure that trauma centers are prepared the moment an injured patient arrives.

City Offices Closed Due to Extensive Power Outage

An early morning fire at a construction and lumber yard quickly spread to a nearby pallet yard, resulting in extensive power outages downtown Stockton. Buildings in the downtown are currently without power, including many City buildings. City buildings, such as City Hall and the Chavez Library have closed for the day and will reopen, Wednesday, April 24, for regular business hours. City buildings outside the downtown area may be open; some services, such as internet access, may not be available.

Summer 2019 Repaving Project Begins in April

The Summer 2019 Repaving Project is scheduled to begin April 22, 2019, and take about three months to complete. This project, funded from the federal Regional Surface Transportation Program, will make improvements to three miles of roadway by resurfacing high traffic streets with poor pavement conditions.
