Changing Faces Theater Company presents the family classic, The Wizard of Oz, at Jessie’s Grove Winery in Lodi

Over fifty children, teens, and adults from the Stockton and Lodi communities have come together for Changing Faces’ 13th summer production.

Changing Faces Theater Company is very proud to be staging this classic story. Our version of the story has the heart and soul of the film, but focuses on telling the original tale that L. Frank Baum penned in 1900. There are no flying monkeys, and the famous ruby red slippers are silver. We have also amped up the show a bit by featuring music by the French electronic music duo, Daft Punk. The munchkins are brighter, the winkies creepier, and our tin man a bit more industrial than in the classic 1939 film starring Judy Garland.

The passion and hard work put into this show by the cast and talented staff is truly phenomenal. As most young people spend their summers lounging around the house and playing video games, our cast members hardly have the time for any of that. The commitment is immense, with our “techies” out at Jessie’s Grove at eight in the morning building an elaborate set, to our actors rehearsing until ten o’clock at night, six days a week. They all love what they do and enjoy getting to work together toward one common goal, putting up a top-notch production and having a lot of fun along the way.

Not only do we offer one terrific show, but the purchase of one ticket includes an Italian dinner catered by Wholey Ravioli, a pre-show marketplace for families to stroll through, and an amazing dessert.

Show dates are July 16, 17, 18, and 19. Tickets for dinner and shows are $40 with an option to buy show only tickets for $20 on the 16th and 17th. (Dinner is available all 4 nights, but we provide the option on the 16th and 17th to purchase show-only tickets.) Jessie’s Grove Winery is located at 1973 W. Turner Road in Lodi.

The show is co-directed by Mike Bartram and Natalie Willis.

The Box Office can be reached at (209) 327-2754. For more information contact Mike Bartram (209) 747- 8043 or visit our website: www.changingfacestheater.org.
