Stockton Civic Theatre presents Mamma Mia! the wildly popular musical comedy based around the music of ABBA.

Event date: 11/15/2017 7:30 PM - 12/10/2017 8:30 PM Export event

Stockton Civic Theatre (SCT) proudly presents the musical Mamma Mia! as its 398th main stage production  for its 67th holiday season co-directed by James Reed and Sarah Spenker. Stockton Civic Theatre is proud to be one of the first community theatres to be able to present this musical.

According to Music Theater International:

54 million people all around the world have fallen in love with the characters, the story and the music that make Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel-good show! A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you'll never forget!

Writer, Catherine Johnson's, sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast, non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a guaranteed smash hit.

Mamma Mia! is ultimately a show about family.  Our cast, crew, and artistic team even exemplify that idea as there are several family connections among our participants.  It is a family affair for David Nelson (Harry) as his sister, Caren, is in the ensemble.  Our ensemble has another pair of siblings; Megan and Joy Lambdin are singing and dancing for the first time on the SCT stage.  Dawn Coyan is married to Tom Coyan who is playing one of the keyboards in the pit.  Debbie (who plays Rosie) and Jon Robinson (the Music Director) and their son, Joey Dalonzo (Sky) are all working on the show together.  Our leading lady, Rhonda Cummings (Donna) is the aunt of Jane Faull who is working backstage.

We have even more backstage family members as Putsy Lew Hong is our stage manager who brought in her daughter Windi to run the light board and her grandson Jay to run one of the spotlights. And the Baldwin Family are well represented as David, Kerry and their daughter Elizabeth are all helping backstage.  Family is important to us here at SCT, both on- and offstage.

Rounding out the named characters in the cast are Ashlyn Kelley as Sophie, Mana Shooshtari as Ali, Carly Davis as Lisa, Joey Dalonzo as Sky, Adam Green as Pepper, Richard Sepulveda, Jr. as Eddie, Dean Blount as Sam, and Michael Gadeke as Bill.

Co-directors are James Reed in his seventh main stage Stockton Civic Theatre production and Sarah Spenker in her first directing opportunity at SCT. Jon Robinson is the Musical Director and Orchestra Conductor with choreography by Karissa Kiriu. The production staff leads are Technical Director Brian Johnson (set), Kathie Dixon and Cathy Hastings (costumes), Craig Vincent (lighting), and Rich Matheson (sound). Putsy Lew Hong is the Stage Manager.
