Running a small business or nonprofit often means becoming the social media manager between everything else. A missed post, an unfinished content calendar or uncertainty about what to share can leave useful local services harder to find online.
Visit Stockton is offering local businesses and nonprofits a free opportunity to work on those challenges through Destination Uplift, a yearlong digital marketing education initiative beginning with in-person training November 3 and 4 at Hilton Stockton.
Practical Skills for Busy Local Organizations
TwoSix Digital will lead the workshop. Visit Stockton’s announcement lists content planning, engaging social posts, distribution tools, captions, hashtags and visuals among the topics.
For a neighborhood shop, those skills can support a more consistent way of explaining what customers will find. For a nonprofit, they can help turn a program announcement into information a family, volunteer or donor can use. Better planning also gives staff time to check dates, links and other details before a post goes live.
The value of training like this is in what an organization can take back to its everyday work. A manageable publishing routine, clear messages and an understanding of the intended audience can make online communication feel less like another unfinished task.
Choose One Session
The Tuesday, November 3 session runs from 2 to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, November 4 runs from 8 to 11 a.m. Both cover the same material. Registration is required, and space is limited.
The workshop opens access to 12 months of free Destination Uplift webinars. That continuing format gives organizations a chance to return to the subject after putting initial ideas into practice.
Before registering, consider which staff member or volunteer regularly handles communications and can carry the lessons into the organization’s work. It may also help to identify one recurring challenge, such as planning posts ahead or choosing visuals, to keep the training connected to a concrete need.
