Holiday Season Community Events in December

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony December 3, 2022

The City of Stockton brings the holidays to life with events, food, entertainment, and lots of holiday cheer throughout December. The holiday happenings begin Saturday, December 3, 2022. The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Weber Point Events Center, 221 N. Center St., is at 5:30 p.m.

Arrive early to enjoy a holiday parade downtown Stockton that begins at 3:00 p.m. The parade starts and finishes on Weber Ave., near the Weber Institute and Waterfront Warehouse. View the parade as it travels on Weber Ave., El Dorado St., Miner Ave., Lindsay St., Hunter St., Miner Ave., and back to Weber Ave. Please watch for any posted parking restrictions or street closures.

The gates to Weber Point Events Center open at 3:00 p.m. Arrive early to enjoy horse carriage rides, local performances, snowfall, free hot chocolate, and to take a photo with Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus. At 4:30 p.m., the Pacific Horn Ensemble from the University of the Pacific will be performing. Come start - or finish - your holiday shopping from a selection of specialty vendors and grab a bite to eat from our onsite food trucks.

Be sure to bundle up for the cold, bring chairs and blankets and make your way over to the water’s edge to watch the Lynn Hahn Memorial Delta Reflections Lighted Boat Parade around 6:30 p.m. The Lighted Boat Parade is a gift to the community from the Marina West Yacht Club. Beloved by Stockton for over 30 years, decorated boats parade into the Stockton Deep Water Channel, then around McLeod Lake on the north side of Weber Point. Share in the cheers, delight, and lots of “Woo-Ahh!” moments.

Downtown Stockton is bustling with activity, as the Stockton Kings basketball game begins at 7:00 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit the NBA G League website.

To lift community holiday spirits, the City is inviting everyone to enjoy the lights at the Weber Point Fountain, lighted trees in Martin Luther King Plaza, and festive wreaths and lights on City Hall, the Civic Auditorium, and Cesar Chavez Central Library. The Weber Point Fountain lights and water rhythms will dance to holiday music while on display each evening from 5:00 – 9:30 p.m. through December 31, 2022.
Continue the holiday fun with crafts, hot chocolate and cookie decorating at the community center Holiday Workshops from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Free fun for the entire family!
