Know Where to Turn: Free Stockton Open House Connects Residents With Fair Housing Help

Project Sentinel staff will meet with community members November 14 at Stribley Community Center.

Event date: 11/14/2026 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Export event

Sometimes the hardest part of asking for help is knowing where to begin. When a housing concern feels confusing or difficult to explain, the opportunity to speak with someone face to face can be a useful first step.

Project Sentinel will offer that starting point at a free Fair Housing Open House on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the meeting room at Stribley Community Center, 1760 E. Sonora Street in Stockton.

Staff will be available for individual conversations about housing discrimination. Visitors can learn about the organization's free fair housing services, pick up educational materials and meet the people who provide them.

Questions Are Welcome

The invitation extends to residents with a fair housing question or an unresolved problem. It also welcomes landlords and property managers who want to understand their responsibilities, along with schools, nonprofits and other community partners looking for resources to share.

That range of visitors gives the gathering a practical community purpose. Information can help a resident decide whom to contact, help a property manager identify a question to raise or help a local organization direct someone to an appropriate service.

The open house format also offers a less formal introduction than many people may associate with seeking housing assistance. Organizers plan coffee and bagels alongside the opportunity to talk with staff.

Meeting the People Behind a Resource

A website can describe a service, but meeting its staff can make the next step feel more manageable. Residents can arrive with questions about what the organization does and how to stay in touch after the event.

For community partners, taking home educational materials creates another point of connection. A school or nonprofit may encounter someone with a housing concern long after the open house ends.

The event is an opportunity to learn about services and discuss concerns. It is not advertised as a housing placement event, and the announcement does not promise that a particular problem will be resolved that morning.

Make Plans to Attend

Date: Saturday, November 14, 2026.
Time: 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

Knowing a resource exists is useful. Knowing whom to call, and having an opportunity to begin that conversation, can make it easier to use.
