We are writing to share news of a leadership transition at PREVAIL. After years of dedicated service, our Chief Executive Officer, Krista Fiser, has stepped down from her role to step into another key position
of leadership within our community. While we will miss her presence at PREVAIL, we are thrilled that her passion for advocacy and systems-level change will continue to make an impact beyond our walls. Her transition is a testament to her ongoing commitment to building safer, more equitable communities — and we look forward to continued collaboration in her new capacity.
Krista has been a transformational leader for PREVAIL. Under her guidance, the organization has expanded its impact in critical areas, including the development of trauma-informed programs, increased housing resources for survivors, and deeper community collaboration across systems. Her leadership has not only strengthened internal operations and team cohesion, but also positioned PREVAIL as a trusted voice in youth and survivor advocacy across San Joaquin County and beyond.
Krista’s ability to lead with clarity, compassion, and integrity has left a lasting imprint on our team, our culture, and our mission. We thank her for her service, her mentorship, and the legacy of excellence she leaves behind.
As we turn the page to this next chapter, we are pleased to announce that Stephanie Player has been appointed Interim CEO of PREVAIL.
Stephanie has been a key member of PREVAIL’s executive leadership team for the past six years, most recently serving as Chief Program Officer. She has played a vital role in shaping strategic direction, overseeing program development, and ensuring that services remain deeply aligned with the agency’s mission and values.
With more than 15 years of experience in domestic and sexual violence response, human trafficking advocacy, and youth homelessness prevention, Stephanie brings not only operational knowledge and vision, but also deep relationships across teams and within the community. Her leadership style is collaborative, transparent, and grounded in both strategy and heart.
Stephanie shared:
“It’s an honor to step into this role and continue the work we’ve built together. I’m committed to leading with transparency, compassion, and a deep respect for the mission that drives us. I look forward to collaborating with our team, partners, and supporters to ensure PREVAIL remains a strong and trusted resource for our community.”
We thank you for your continued partnership, and we’re excited to move forward with a clear vision and strong leadership guiding us. Please join us in celebrating both Krista’s legacy and Stephanie’s next chapter with PREVAIL.
