Sound Tigers Recall Keenan

Defenseman Mike Keenan returns to Bridgeport in the AHL

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, AHL affiliate of the Stockton Thunder, have recalled defenseman Mike Keenan from his loan deal after being sent to Stockton on October 16th.

Keenan played in all of the Thunder’s first three games of the regular season, registering a goal and an assist, both of which came in Stockton’s season opener. The Weymouth, MA native started the season with Bridgeport in the AHL, but did not play in the Sound Tigers opening two games before being loaned the ECHL.

Keenan was signed by Bridgeport as a free agent at the end of the 2012-13 season following a four-year NCAA career with Dartmouth College. In a five game cameo with the Sound Tigers that season, he recorded his one point, an assist, in his pro debut against the Albany Devils on March 24, 2013.

The Thunder are off until this weekend when it takes on the Utah Grizzlies for a two-game home stand on Friday and Saturday night. The weekend set is also the 8th annual edition of “Thunder Goes Pink”, which will have a silent auction and jersey auction to benefit the St. Joseph’s Foundation – Breast Health Services. Fans can find more information about special “pink” ticket packages on StocktonThunder.com.
