Stockton Black Family Day Returns to Weber Point for a Celebration of Culture, Community and Family

Event date: 9/7/2026 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM Export event

One of Stockton’s longstanding community celebrations returns this Labor Day as Stockton Black Family Day Culture Fest brings music, food, family activities, health resources and African American culture to Weber Point Events Center.

The event is scheduled for Monday, September 7, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Weber Point Events Center, 221 N. Center Street in downtown Stockton. Official vendor information from Stockton Black Family Day confirms the date, time and location for this year’s celebration.

Stockton Black Family Day is rooted in a mission of promoting faith, education, health, respect and unity while celebrating African American history, cultural values and family traditions. The organization traces its beginnings to the efforts of San Joaquin Delta College Black Student Union members in 1969 and the community celebration that followed their push for greater educational opportunity.

That history gives the annual gathering a meaning that goes beyond entertainment.

While the festival offers plenty of reasons to come out for a fun day with family and friends, it also creates a space where residents can connect with local organizations, learn about community resources and celebrate the people and traditions that have helped shape Stockton.

Music, Food and Family Activities

Visitors can expect a full day of activity at Weber Point.

Visit Stockton lists this year’s Culture Fest as featuring gospel music, job and health fairs, children’s activities, crafts and food vendors.

The combination of entertainment and community resources has long been an important part of Black Family Day. The event gives families an opportunity to enjoy music and food while also connecting with organizations focused on health, employment, education and family support.

Stockton Black Family Day’s own programs also reflect that broader community focus, with committees dedicated to health and wellness, youth activities, scholarships, community awards, vendors, a gospel stage and children’s programming.

For local entrepreneurs and organizations, Culture Fest also provides a valuable opportunity to meet residents face to face. The event is welcoming food vendors, merchandise vendors, nonprofits and informational organizations, helping create a marketplace filled with both local businesses and community services.

Celebrating Culture and Strengthening Community

Stockton Black Family Day describes its mission as preserving, promoting and celebrating African American history, cultural values and family traditions.

That mission remains especially relevant in a city as diverse as Stockton.

Events like Black Family Day give one community an opportunity to proudly celebrate its history and traditions while inviting the entire city to participate. Music, art, food and family provide the setting, but the larger goal is connection.
