Stockton will be in full bloom this spring as the city welcomes the inaugural Stockton Rose Garden Tour on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., inviting the community to experience five of Stockton’s most beautiful rose gardens in one special day.
Presented by SASS! Public Relations in partnership with the Stockton Garden Club and Stockton Beautiful, the event offers more than just a walk among roses. Guests can look forward to a relaxing and elegant afternoon filled with refreshments, live music, floral activities, and conversations with Master Gardeners at each stop along the tour.
According to event coordinator Carrie Sass, the tour is also a celebration of Stockton itself.
“There is so much beauty in our community,” Sass said in the release. “This is a wonderful opportunity to gather together and enjoy it.”
The tour will take attendees through five distinctive rose garden destinations: University Park World Peace Rose Garden, the private rose garden of Gerry Dunlap at the Jane and Jerry Butterfield home, the Faye Fotini Spanos Rose Garden at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, The Gerry Dunlap Rose Garden at the Haggin Museum, and the Rose Garden at Knoles Lawn on the University of the Pacific campus.
Organizers say spring is the perfect time for the event, when the first blooms are at their most vibrant.
“The first blooms of roses in late spring are spectacular,” said Carol Burns of the Stockton Garden Club. “April’s Rose Garden Tour will give guests the best of spring roses.”
Beyond the beauty, the event also supports a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the tour will provide scholarships to Delta College Horticulture students, helping cultivate the next generation of local gardening and landscape professionals.
For Marilyn Myrah, president of Stockton Beautiful, the tour is an invitation to slow down and appreciate the meaning and emotion roses have carried through the centuries.
“Roses have always held special meanings for people over the centuries, including love, passion and beauty,” Myrah said. “Come and experience the beauty firsthand, breathe deeply and let the beauty unfold before your eyes.”
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at several locations in Stockton, Woodbridge, and Linden, including Best Wishes, With Garden Flair, In Season, SASS! Public Relations, Fig & Fern, and The French Bee Nursery.
With a mix of natural beauty, community spirit, and support for education, the Stockton Rose Garden Tour promises to be a memorable way to enjoy the season and discover some of the city’s hidden floral gems.
