There are only two more chances this summer to grab a lawn chair, pack a picnic and enjoy live music beneath the trees at Victory Park.
Stockton’s popular Concerts in the Park series continues Wednesday, August 12, with the Ginger Molasses Band, followed by the season finale on Wednesday, August 19, featuring Marquis’ Motown Plus Band.
Both concerts run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Victory Park, and admission is free.
The August 12 performance will bring a distinctly funky sound to the park, with Ginger Molasses Band performing music inspired by the 1970s.
A week later, Marquis’ Motown Plus Band closes out the 2026 series with an evening devoted to the unmistakable sound of Motown.
The concerts are part of a summer tradition that has filled Victory Park with music every Wednesday since early June. This year's lineup has featured everything from classic rock and blues to Latin music, funk, disco, country and pop.
Bring a Picnic and Make an Evening of It
The concerts are designed to be casual community gatherings.
Families are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, pick up dinner from a favorite Stockton restaurant or pack a picnic and settle in beneath Victory Park's mature trees.
Children are welcome, and leashed dogs can join their families at the park as well.
Those planning to attend may want to arrive early. Parking is limited to streets surrounding the park, and the concerts regularly attract residents from throughout Stockton.
Unlike many summer entertainment options, there is no admission charge, making the series an easy outing for families looking to enjoy an evening together without adding another expense to the summer budget.
