Thunder Release Four Players from Tryouts

Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm announced today that the team has released four players from their tryouts.

The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, have released forwards Colin Reddin, Adam Stuart, and Mitch Bruijsten as well as defenseman Bill Baker from their tryouts with the team, Thunder Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm announced today.

“It’s never easy to release a player,” explained Kromm.  “You hope they find somewhere to continue to develop.  It’s tough to make these decisions as all four players had decent camps.”

Reddin, 23, and Bruijstan, 24, were both on Professional Tryouts while Baker, 26, and Stuart, 24, were both on Amateur Tryouts.

Stockton now has 25 players on their preseason roster including three players that are still on tryout agreements, forwards Alex MacLeod, J.P. Burkemper and defenseman Michal Spacek.

The Stockton Thunder open the regular season at home for “Opening Night”, with the unveiling of the Western Conference Championship banner on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. against the Colorado Eagles at Stockton Arena.

A two-time recipient of the ECHL “Award of Excellence” and defending Western Conference Champion, the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the eighth consecutive season in 2012-2013.  Season Tickets and Mini Plans are on sale now.  For more information about tickets, merchandise, or other inquires, contact the Stockton Thunder offices at (209) 373-1500 or visit www.StocktonThunder.com.
